What's going on in our Community
SERVPRO of East Greenwich / Warwick / Cranston
SERVPRO of Providence understands that communities like ours hold America together. This is why we strive to be involved in our community through various charities such as fundraising walks, school supply drives, clothing drives and Christmas gift drives. It is our hope that by helping our community, we are ensuring America's future.
SERVPRO of Providence recently donated their services to help a local Providence family spend some much needed quality time in their home. Big Brothers and Big Sisters notified us that there was a single mother who had long abandoned her home to move into a hospital to be with her daughter who was fighting cancer. The hospital recently released the young girl as she is now terminal and the mother and daughter moved into a Motel 6 due to their home being deemed unsafe due to sanitation and rodent issues. After hearing this, SERVPRO of Providence rushed to do their part to bring the cleanliness of the home to code so that this mother and her daughter could spend their last bit of time together in the home the girl grew up in.
From a spokeswoman for the family, "Hi Brendan & Chris, I wanted to I've you guys a little update. I was able to see the young girl last night at her house. She was beyond happy to be in her own home and her mother was overcome with emotion. I want to thank you so much for your generosity towards someone you have never met. You both truly went above and beyond. Thank you, thank you, thank you a million times over.
From another business person involved in the families affairs, "Chris, just learned of your extraordinary efforts to help this family. It is refreshing to know that there is always room for kindness in business. Thanks again!"
From another employee at Big Brothers and Big Sisters, "Hi Chris, Not sure if you remember me - two years ago you helped my mom with an ice dam issue and we tried to meet in person at the gala but missed each other. I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for what you are doing for the family. Words cannot describe how grateful we are. When this issue was brought tot my attention, we thought it would be hopeless. But we all know when you need a good connection in Rhode Island, you reach out to Brendan. So we did and four you and you've worked a miracle. You are a truly good person and deserve all the best karma the universe has to offer."
From another board member, "Hi Chris, I just heard about your tremendous support for this family! While I sit at work with tears in my eyes I'm reminded that although the world is big, the actions of just a few can have such a huge impact on those who are most in need. Thank you so much to you and your organization."
From a manager at Big Brothers and Big Sisters, "Hi Chris, I am on the Board of Directors and just wanted to thank you for helping this family by cleaning their home for them. Words can't really express the gratitude and appreciation I have for you and your company. Knowing that the family is in a safe and clean home must give you good piece of mind. It does for me especially in this trying and difficult time. Again, thank you!"
